Is your skin suffering from Atopic Dermatitis or Eczema?

When you suffer this long-term skin concern, there are certain periods when the rash alleviates, but it always come back. Sometimes the discomfort generated by the rash can distract you from your daily activities. In addition to your prescribed treatment you can use Pediacyn hydrogel as an adjuvant to assist reducing the redness, itch and pain caused by the rash.

Indications for use

Pediacyn is indicated as an adjuvant in the wound healing process with wounds that can only heal by secondary intention in the maturation phase. Pediacyn is indicated for the care of lesions associated with atopic dermatitis. Pediacyn assists with moistening while forming a protective barrier against physical, chemical and microbial invasion of the atopic dermatitis lesions.

Directions for use

Pediacyn is ready for use with no mixing or dilution required. Prior to cleanse the area or use the product, please carry out appropriate handwashing. Apply three times daily.

Stability

Until opened, the stability of Pediacyn is assured up to expiration date (see bottle for year and month of expiration YYYY MM). Upon opening, note the date on the bottle in the section “Date opened”. Stability of the unused hydrogel is assured for up to 60 days after opening.

Treatment

Prior to cleanse the area or use the product, please carry out appropriate handwashing. Wash the affected area as recommended by your healthcare professional. Dry. Cover the affected area with a thin layer of Pediacyn and gently rub until it is evenly distributed. Let skin dry and do not wash off.

Handling

Pediacyn is biocompatible for its indicated use, non-irritating to human skin and is not a skin sensitizer. No special handling precautions are required.

Storage

Pediacyn should be stored in its original sealed container at ambient conditions. Store at room temperature and prevent the product from freezing. It is non-ilammable. After use, the container should be closed again, before storing

Scientifical studies

In a clinical pilot study, performed by Dr. Rebecca Smith, among 15 patients with mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis, the treatment of Pediacyn™ in combination with an emollient was investigated. The outcome of this pilot study was:

Reduction in itch, pain, dryness and redness by 50% or more and over 60% reduction in symptoms of atopic dermatitis: induration, excoriation, erythema and lichenification (a thick, leathery skin, usually the result of constant scratching and rubbing).
