Sonoma Pharmaceuticals’ roots go back to 1999 when the company was founded in Petaluma, CA under the name ‘Micromed Laboratories Inc.’

Our exclusive Microcyn® Technology is developed and the company’s name changes to to ‘Oculus Innovative Sciences’

The company starts its expansion with two subsidiaries located in The Netherlands and Mexico.

We are the first company to introduce a revolutionary stable patented Hypochlorous acid-based Wound care formulation in a bottle, known as ‘Microcyn® Wound Care’ in the US and ‘Dermacyn®’ in Europe and Asia.

Our company headquarters are moved from California to Delaware in December.

In January 2007 the company is listed NASDAQ

A ‘Microcyn® Technology’ based hydrogel is added to our liquid product range.

As a result of the success of our wound care products, we begin to expand the ‘Microcyn® Technology’ family with a range of dermatological products which would be followed by specific solutions for the treatment of eyelid, throat and oral infections, root canal treatment, periodontitis, nasal Irrigation, first fid, UTI, surface disinfection and animal health that have been introduced over the past 6 years.
In March of 2014 the name ‘Dermacyn® Wound Care’ is changed to ‘Microdacyn60® Wound Care in Europe.

The company’s name ‘Oculus Innovative Sciences’ is changed to Sonoma Pharmaceuticals (with the exception of our production company in Guadalajara, Mexico)
